If you’ve been around here long at all, you know that freedom is a word I live by. Freedom is how I know my Jesus. Freedom from sin. Freedom from fear. Freedom from a past that had me tied in knots for years. Lately, I’ve been feeling Him more and more tell me that it’s time to speak up about freedom. One of the things I’ve noticed in each of my stories is there is freedom involved. From past hurts, from slavery to unmeetable expectations, from emotional pain, from sin… It’s all there.
So how cool is it that my friend Jennifer Slattery asked me to tell my story in a compilation about freedom in Christ? She pulled together a group of women with amazing stories about the freeing power of Christ in their lives and has compiled it for the Fourth of July. Sweet Freedom is available now:
Words hurt. Fears debilitate. Abuse creates long-term scars, wounds only a risen Savior can heal.
In these pages you will read stories of people held in bondage by fears, bitterness, and deep emotional wounds, set free by their loving, compassionate, all powerful Savior. The same Savior that longs to free you. For when the Son sets you free, you are free indeed.
This Fourth of July, may you grab hold of the freedom that penetrates to your very core. A freedom only Christ can give.
Jen’s goal, and one we all agreed to, was to distribute the book for free. It is available until July 7 for free on Amazon. Also, each author can distribute the .pdf straight to your Kindle. All you have to do is email me and ask for directions. We can also email a .pdf straight to your computer, if you don’t have a Kindle. Prefer print? There will be a print edition available within the next couple of weeks, though there will be a cost with that.
Our prayer is that God will use this book to show you He is freedom, and He desires your freedom. He’s so awesome like that. As I was saying last week, we don’t get what we deserve, not at all. We get infinitely better.
