I woke up this morning singing this song. God is moving in our lives in ways I can’t talk about just yet, but suffice it to say… something’s up. One way I know? Satan is pushing back. Usually, he pushes back when something good has already happened. Now, he’s pushing when nothing has happened. Yet. If he’s fighting this hard, something is definitely up. I can’t wait to see what it is, and it’s possible we have a hint… But that will have to wait.
Matt Redman’s version of “Ten Thousand Reasons” came to my attention about a month and a half ago, once again, at school. (Dude, were it not for school, I would probably be stuck in whatever is on my iPod forever.)
There is one line that struck me, and the first time I heard it, I actually cringed. Then I thought about it and realized how well it fits into who I want to be. Pretty near the start of the song, it says, “Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me let me be singing when the evening comes.” See, you never know what a day will bring. Life can change–for better or for worse–in one instant. Praising God no matter what… that’s who I want to be. And don’t think it’s not a little bit scary to say that!
So… it’s Monday. What are you singing?
